Download WhitepaperIt’s that time of year again, where men everywhere give up their upper lips to increase awareness and raise money for men’s health with a Hairy Movember. Movember is an official global charity which supports world-class men’s health programs that combat prostate and testicular cancer as well as mental health challenges. It encourages men to grow a mustache for the entire month of November, asking friends and family to donate to their efforts.
While the movement is most well-known for encouraging extravagant mustaches, it has been extremely effective in its fundraising efforts as well. Since inception in 2003 Movember has had 3.05 million registrants and raised CAD $447 million dollars, CAD $146.6 of which was raised in the last year alone. A few of our men here at Intranet Connections have stepped up to the plate and volunteered to stop shaving for the month of November in order to raise funds for this great cause.
Starting November 1st with clean-shaven faces our Mo Bros began growing and grooming their Mo’s (slang for moustaches). They include: CEO Steven MacDonald, Sales Director Dave Calder, Sales Engineer Maz Mohammadi, Software Architect Ryan Hall, Web Developer Reza Andalib, Product Manager Neil Chong-Kit, Graphic Designer Cam Eldred and Lead Support Tech Ayendra Susanthan.
Honorable mentions go out to our Mo Dog Blue Lee, and our Mo Sista Marketing Assistant Karleen Murphy, as they work to encourage our Mo Bros and promote fundraising efforts.
Steven MacDonald joined the Intranet Connections team as CEO this past May after several years in sabbatical feeding kangaroos in Australia, joining Turkish hooligans at a football match in Istanbul and climbing small mountains while dreaming of his next big adventure in the corporate world.
With over 20 years experience leading and growing successful software companies and a passion for driving revenues and culture he provides the more, shall we say, mature wisdom, to our dynamic, creative and highly intelligent gen-X team members. That and his somewhat sarcastic sense of humor has lent to a unique and interesting leadership to his fellow Mo Bro compadres and the rest of our Intranet Connections family.
Steven agreed to become a Mo Bro this November in memory of his late father who, after a battle with cancer, was lost at far too young an age. His passion for the cause, along with peer pressure from the rest of the ICGROMO Team encouraged Steven to sacrifice his upper lip and forgo shaving for an entire month.
As the days of the month of November drag on, so will the length of the hair upon our Mo Bros’ upper lips.
