Summary: This week on Meet the Team we’re introducing Rory Broderick, the Business Development Rep here at Intranet Connections. If you’ve been seeking out an on premise intranet solution with us in the last few months, you’ve most likely been contacted by Rory to help answer any questions you may have, including ‘why have an intranet?’
Rory joined the team shortly after arriving in Canada, all the way from Ireland. With a roaring laugh and upbeat personality, he’s been a fantastic addition! He’s got an in-depth knowledge of our software, which he loves to discuss with any prospects who are in the research stage of considering a new intranet.
I’m the Business Development Representative. I help people who are looking for a new intranet by finding out a little bit about them, their company and what they are hoping to achieve with their new project. Because our product comes with so many features and applications out of the box this helps us make sure we focus on what is important.
I’m originally from Ireland and moved to Vancouver this year. I previously worked in customer service for Amazon in the digital marketplace helping people with their Kindle, Five TV, Software Purchases, etc. That experience has definitely instilled a desire to understand and then solve peoples problems, which translates perfectly into my role at Intranet Connections.
I love the new site statistics application that we’ve added to the most recent updates to the software. It allows intranet admins to track the uptake of the intranet, so it’s great for tracking your ROI. It also has a handy feature that allows you to make sure everything on your intranet is being used by your employees, and if something isn’t it will highlight that too to allow you to make changes.
Definitely Empathy. I spend my days talking with people about what they would like to improve in their workplace so being empathetic is crucial for me.
I love the company news application. Instead of getting tonnes of all staff email every day, I can instead go and check the news on our Intranet. Plus it’s on the home page of our site so it’s the first thing I check every morning when I get to work.
I like to read a lot. Since I’m in Vancouver and it’s winter I’m going to give snowboarding a try. At home in Ireland, I used to surf so I’m hoping the skills will translate.
As much as I’d like to say Ryan Gosling I think Toby Maguire might be closer to the mark.
An intranet should be a crucial asset for almost every company. It’s a tool to engage your employees, improve internal communication and promote your corporate culture. An intranet is also a knowledge resource for your employees because it gives them the information they need to solve their own problems. As well as all of that implementing an intranet can save your company money by automating internal processes. So really you should be asked why don’t we have an intranet.
